We are delighted to introduce Sydnee Pearson, Milestone’s newest law clerk. Sydnee is a 2L student at University at Buffalo School of Law. To get to know her better, we asked her a few questions about her education and life in Buffalo. Check out what she had to say below.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about my children and their future. They are a huge motivating factor in almost every aspect of my life and are the reason that I work, study, and operate the way that I do. I’m also passionate about learning. I genuinely want to know how and why things are the way that they are – this has led me down many research rabbit holes and left me with a questionable search history. It’s also worth noting that I have a love of reality TV that some would call passionate.

Why are you pursuing law?

I’ve always been interested in pursuing law and being a part of our justice system because ideally, I want to make a difference. I want to focus my career on something that is bigger than myself and working within the legal field gives me that chance.

What area of the law do you hope to practice?

Honestly, that is a question I regularly ask myself. I have changed my focus quite a few times since starting law school and I don’t think I have an answer just yet. My professional background is in hospitality, and it would be nice to be able to use the relevant parts of that experience to my advantage.

What is your favorite part of living/working in Buffalo?

One of my favorite things about being in Buffalo is that it has small town charm with the amenities and hustle of a big city. It’s amazing to see all the positive change that has happened in the 10 years that I’ve been here and I’m grateful to live in a place where the term ‘community’ really means something. I’m also a big fan of the fact that Buffalo just casually puts chicken fingers on everything.

What do you like about working at Milestone?

I like working at Milestone because I respect the work that is being done.

Join us in welcoming Sydnee to the team!
