Director of People Operations

As the Director of People Ops at Milestone, your job is to help the CEO and other key executives be better attuned to the successes and challenges of the overall team, filtering both the positives we need more of and the negatives that require large-scale changes/initiatives that must be driven from the top down.

Requirements:
 
• 5-7 years of HR, People Operations, or Talent Acquisition experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience leading a People Operations or Human Resources team
• Experience developing high-performing leaders, employees and teams
• A demonstrated ability to challenge conventional approaches and a willingness to build a unique approach
• High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills

Trust Officer

Position Details and Requirements

The Trust Officer will be dedicated to the Special Needs Solutions Team. This position is responsible for serving as a relationship manager on a book of business solely comprised of Special Needs Trusts, Settlement Preservation Trusts, Guardianships & Conservatorships. Candidates for this role should be familiar with all aspects of means-tested benefits and Social Security Administration. In addition, candidates must be able to interact well with disabled beneficiaries and their families, standing firm when necessary, while always maintaining understanding & empathy for each situation.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Manage all types of Special Needs accounts in accordance with the terms of the various governing documents, government agencies, applicable law, and consistent with the needs of the principals, income beneficiaries, and remaindermen.
  • Perform day-to-day administrative duties associated with ongoing Trust accounts in the Seventh Amendment Trust portfolio, including but not limited to: review, analyze and interpret documents for direction; have face to face interaction with the beneficiaries & their family; review the beneficiary’s needs and develop appropriate plans to maximize benefits & improve overall quality of life; evaluate accounts for completeness and accuracy, monitor and review account transactions; respond to incoming correspondence and any other client requests to ensure compliance with the governing document, applicable law and policies and procedures.
  • Work actively with attorneys, accountants, beneficiaries, and co-fiduciaries in the administration of Trusts/Estates to abide by the terms outlined in the legal instrument and Court Orders underlying the Trust/Estate and mitigate fiduciary risk.
  • Review and discuss discretionary payment requests with Trust beneficiaries and co-fiduciaries in accordance with the terms and standards in the instruments. Provide evaluation and recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval or non-approval of the same.
  • Proactively communicate and meet with existing clients on a regular basis to continuously evaluate their needs and deliver high quality service in accordance with service level standards.
  • As a part of new business development activities, serve as a representative of the Trust in the market, including attendance at community events, seminars, professional networking events and Board meetings.
  • Work alongside Monolith Advisors to open and close accounts and to understand the wealth planning process for all clients.
  • Help to develop solutions to most issues brought forth by care managers, beneficiaries and their families, and State Agencies.

Requirements:

  • 4 Year College Degree required, CTFA or JD desired
  • 2 or more years’ experience in a Trust Officer role (Experience with Special Needs Trust Administration is strongly preferred)
  • Experience working with caregiver agencies, Medicaid/SSI offices, and/or real estate firms
  • Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills; must be able to multi-task and work independently in a professional, fast-paced, and high traffic environment
  • Ability to thrive in a highly regulated environment that demands full compliance with policies and procedures
  • Strong problem solving, project planning and execution skills
  • A positive, can-do attitude that motivates and inspires others

Technology Project Manager

Position Details and Requirements

As the Tech Project Manager at Milestone, your job is to help the CEO and other key executives optimize their productivity by identifying and executing tech solutions to current problems. This role will focus on investing in technology and developing reports, dashboards, workflows, and integrations to enable our team to operate most efficiently and to meet our business goals. We are seeking someone with excellent technical and communication skills who can interface directly with internal stakeholders to understand their needs in order to administer and enhance the systems accordingly.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in software implementation, support, and/or training
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Operations Paralegal / Case Manager

As the Operations Paralegal / Case Manager at Milestone, your job is to provide support to the Case Management team on varying projects related to settlement. Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree, paralegal certificate preferred but not required, or equivalent job-related experience. 
• 3+ years of legal experience in litigation, such as mass torts, personal injury settlements, and/or products liability litigation; knowledge of lien resolution a plus.
• Computer literate. Highly experienced in MS Office Suite, including MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Must be able to meet deadlines, wear multiple hats, maintain flexibility to pivot as needed throughout the day, and thrive in pressure situations.
• Maintain a high degree of attention to detail and professionalism in working with time-sensitive materials, and confidential matters.
• Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on managing time, documents, projects and relationships. 
• Must be a self-starter able to work independently under minimal supervision, but also take direction/guidance well and function efficiently as part of a collaborative team.
• Ability to effectively prioritize, organize, and juggle multiple tasks/projects/deadlines simultaneously.
