Medler receives $10,000 toward future schooling, pledges to begin legal career as a trial lawyer
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Milestone has named Sabrina Medler as the recipient of the 2023 Trial LawHER Scholarship. This $10,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a 3L woman law student who intends to become a plaintiff trial lawyer. Medler attends University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and beat out applicants from law schools across the country to be named winner of the 2023 competition.
The Trial LawHER Scholarship intends to enact change on two fronts: elevate rising women leaders in the plaintiff trial lawyer space and educate around the importance of settlement planning. In order to be considered, applicants must be female, enrolled in a 3L law school program, and have plans to become a plaintiff trial lawyer. Medler was selected as this year’s scholarship recipient based on the contents of her essay and video submissions.
“Sabrina’s application stood out for its thoughtful and well-researched approach to exploring settlement planning in the context of a holistic legal practice,” said Amy Fogle, CEO of Milestone. “Our selection committee was very impressed with her submission, and there is no doubt her future clients will be lucky to have her fighting for them.”
Medler is a standout student at UCLA School of Law, where she specializes in critical race studies and the David J. Epstein Public Interest Law and Policy Program. She is a staff editor for the UCLA Journal of Gender and Law and has lent her passion and talent to countless gender-based advocacy initiatives throughout her law school career. Over the next few months, she is serving as a summer associate at Haeggquist & Eck, LLP, in San Diego, California.
