Introducing Milestone’s New Executive Assistant, Clare O’Connell!
We’re excited to announce that Clare O’Connell has joined the Milestone team as executive assistant. We asked her a few questions about her life and background. Here’s what she had to say.
Where did you attend school, and what did you study?
I received a Bachelor of Arts in e-Business Management Systems from Limerick Institute of Technology in Ireland, and a Higher Diploma in International Business with Financial Markets from National University of Ireland in Galway, Ireland. I also completed business-related courses at University of Massachusetts Boston while I lived and worked there from 2010 to 2013.
What led you to Milestone?
I want to be part of the profound difference that is made in the lives of clients and clients’ families utilizing Milestone’s services.
How would you describe your job?
My main function is to support enterprise development, as well as all team members.
Share something unique about your life.
I have spent the last 10 years exploring and working all around the world — Boston, London, Nepal, Melbourne, Thailand, Seattle, and Galway, to name a few. I have family ties here in Buffalo. I lived here in 2016 and 2017 with my grandmother when she broke her leg at 95. I have some great childhood memories visiting relatives at Christmas and during the summertime. The people here couldn’t be nicer, and I have nothing but good memories shared with friends and family that I plan to continue making as I put down some roots here.
I love long-distance swimming and being able to push myself mentally when my physical body is giving up; my most recent swim was the Bridge to Bridge Swim in San Francisco in early March 2020, where I swam from the Golden Gate Bridge around Alcatraz Island and finished at the Oakland Bay Bridge.
What is it like to start a new job in the midst of a global pandemic?
I was slightly apprehensive, thinking I would not have the same opportunity to build relationships with coworkers or fully understand the nuts and bolts of each enterprise while everyone was working from home. Luckily for me, I have landed on my feet with a great bunch of friendly coworkers who have all in some way made my first few weeks much easier than I could have ever imagined!
Join us in welcoming Clare O’Connell to the team!
