Team Member Spotlight: Dominic Baranyi
Over the next few weeks, we will be featuring the members of our dynamic team who, in their own way, help injured clients and their families plan for a secure financial future. Today the spotlight is on Dominic Baranyi, controller at Milestone. We asked Dom a few questions about working at Milestone and life outside the office. Read on to learn more about him!
How do you help Milestone’s clients?
I do much of the glamourous accounting work that keeps our business running effectively. When I’m not ankle-deep in spreadsheets, I also enjoy solving problems, whether that’s trying to interpret the recently passed coronavirus CARES Act, revamping internal control processes, or figuring out how to implement various systems across the firm. I work hard to solve problems, so that our clients can have peace of mind.
What is the best part of your job?
Reviewing expense reports… just kidding! I love teaching people something new about the businesses that they work with using financial data. Even numbers have the potential to tell an interesting story.
How would you describe Milestone’s corporate culture in one word?
If you had to come up with a unique mission statement for Milestone, what would it be?
Advocate for justice and find solutions that best suit our clients’ interests.
What makes you a good party guest?
I never forget that starting the conversation is almost always the hardest part about meeting someone new, and they likely feel the same way about meeting you for the first time. Being an avid reader and a serial sports fan doesn’t hurt either.
What is your “walking down the street” song?
Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival.
If you were an ice cream flavor, what would you be?
What is your personal mission statement?
How about a favorite quote? “Insist on yourself, never imitate – every great man is unique.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
